Samsonite is opting out of Black Friday and is instead donating 5% of the sales price from each sustainable product to The Perfect World Foundation’s ocean conservation project, Project Ocean.
Every year, an estimated 640,000,000 kg of discarded fishing equipment ends up in the world’s oceans, often referred to as “ghost nets” or “ghost fishing gear.” This results in millions of dead marine animals and fish. The Perfect World Foundation’s Project Ocean aims to raise awareness about these issues, protect marine life, and implement global solutions to prevent plastic pollution and ghost nets in the seas.
In the fight to protect our oceans, The Perfect World Foundation collaborates with Samsonite. Last year, 70,000 SEK was raised for the project when Samsonite donated 10% of the revenue from its ECO-collection to Project Ocean. This year, Samsonite is swapping Black Friday for a Green Month, where 5% of the sales price from each sustainable product goes to The Perfect World Foundation’s ocean conservation project, Project Ocean.
