TPWF Honored with Prestigious Award for Efforts to Save Endangered Amphibians

The Perfect World Foundation has been awarded a prestigious diploma by the County Administrative Board of Skåne, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for its significant contributions to the preservation of endangered amphibians and their habitats. The award was presented during the annual amphibian seminar held in Skåne, Sweden.

Recognized Efforts to Protect Critical Habitats

The diploma acknowledges TPWF’s work in mapping, restoring, and educating the public about the habitats of species such as the natterjack toad, common toad, and smooth newt. The rocky cliffs and islands of Smögen, home to Sweden’s northernmost population of natterjack toads, have been a key focus of this work.

Extensive Contributions to Biodiversity

With great enthusiasm and in collaboration with several universities, TPWF has contributed to:

  • Restoring critical breeding areas.
  • Cleaning ponds and combating invasive species.
  • Raising public awareness through signs and educational initiatives.
A Model for Local Collaboration

TPWF has also built a strong network with local communities, municipalities, and experts to protect amphibians and advocate against activities that threaten their survival.

A Word of Thanks from the Awarding Organizations

Through this diploma, we, the County Administrative Board of Skåne, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, and WWF, wish to express our gratitude for the thorough and passionate work carried out by The Perfect World Foundation. We hope this recognition brings the attention you so greatly deserve and ensures that the natterjack toads can thrive for generations to come.
