Captain Paul Watson, currently imprisoned in Greenland, has received global support from notable leaders and advocates, including French President Emmanuel Macron, primatologist Jane Goodall, actor Pierce Brosnan, and entrepreneur Richard Branson. They are all calling on Danish authorities to release him as part of the #freepaulwatson campaign.

“Heroes of the Ocean”

The video is a powerful reminder of the heartbreaking slaughter of pilot whales in the Faroe Islands, a part of Denmark, where Captain Watson has bravely campaigned for years to end this senseless killing of these majestic animals.

In the tribute video, TPWF volunteer and singer Karin Funk performs a moving opera piece as she gazes out over the ocean, holding The Perfect World Foundation Award’s trophy, The Fragile Rhino. The video also includes impactful footage from Paul Watson’s fight and scenes from the slaughter of pilot whales, says Ragnhild Jacobsson.

This video is also part of our campaign to free Captain Watson, #freepaulwatson. Currently detained for his fearless commitment, we sincerely hope he will soon be released to continue his invaluable work in protecting our oceans for future generations, concludes Ragnhild Jacobsson.
