Kristin Davis, maybe best known for her role as Charlotte in “Sex and the City,” has been an outspoken advocate for animal rights and conservation of wildlife for many years. Kristin Davis will now be awarded the TPWF award, and the Conservationist of the year, for her work that has significantly contributed to the conservation of the planet’s wildlife and nature, by increasing global awareness of the importance of protecting Biodiversity.
Always outspoken for animal welfare, in 2009 Kristin began a longstanding relationship with the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to help promote protecting the habitat and ecosystem of orphaned baby elephants in Kenya and to create awareness to stop illegal poaching for ivory. Pairing her passions for philanthropy and film, in 2014, Davis executive produced and financed the documentary, “Gardeners of Eden,” about the work the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust does to help the elephants in the fight to save them from extinction. In 2019, Davis executive produced and starred in the adventure-romance film for Netflix, “Holiday in the Wild,” set against the backdrop of the elephant poaching and conservation battles in the African wilderness. Herd Elephants Organization in South Africa provided the backdrop and elephants for this endeavor. With her dedication, The Perfect World Foundation believes that Kristin Davis will continue to help lead conservation protection in the future.
In addition to her work on behalf of the elephants, Kristin Davis has supported UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency since 2014 and was announced as a Goodwill Ambassador in April, 2017. She advocates for the rights of refugees and displaced people around the world who have been forced to flee their homes due to violence, conflict, and persecution.
The TPWF award ceremony will bring together celebrities, philanthropists, and conservationists from around the world to celebrate Kristin Davis philanthropy and to raise awareness about global conservation efforts. The theme of this year’s gala is ”Women who are Changing the World,” highlighting the role of women in conservation and the importance of women’s contributions to the field.
